About this event
NekoCon 28: The Rise of Purrzilla!
Virginia’s longest-running anime convention returns to the Hampton Roads Convention Center for its 28th year! This year, the ground trembles as NekoCon embraces a giant-monster cat theme: The Rise of Purrzilla!
After seventeen years lost in the Forgotten Realm, NekoCon’s mysterious lost mascot has returned transformed—as a mighty, mini-kaiju! Join thousands of anime, gaming, and cosplay fans as we celebrate Japanese animation, pop culture, and community.
Weekend Highlights & Attractions:
• Exhibitor Hall & Artist Alley: Shop a massive selection of anime merchandise, Japanese imports, custom art, apparel, collectibles, and comic goods.
• Cosplay Contests & Masquerade: Show off your best craft skills or watch incredible cosplayers take the stage in official competitions and casual walk-ons.
• Panels & Workshops: Attend interactive fan-run discussions, industry guest Q&A sessions, workshops, and late-night programming.
• Gaming & Entertainment: Dive into modern console video games, arcade cabinets, tabletop RPGs, TCG tournaments, live musical performances, and the annual Neko Idol Festival.
