- ➤ Dr. Matthew Morena, a CNU math instructor known for creative teaching methods that bring real-life challenges into the classroom, received the Mathematical Association of America’s John M. - ➤ Christopher Newport University held its 2025 Winter Commencement at Diamonstein Concert Hall where 134 graduates received degrees and joined the Captains for Life; President Kelly praised their unique journeys, including ROTC cadets Andrew Ross and Chunjing Neumann, amid traditions observed by family, friends, and staff. - ➤ The CDC updated its childhood vaccine guidance to recommend vaccines for 11 diseases instead of 17, and local pediatricians say the change is mainly a reorganization of existing practices. They note that shared decision-making on vaccines such as flu, COVID-19, and hepatitis A and B continues in local clinics. WTKR
- ➤ Six Sentara hospitals have been named among the best in maternity care by U.S. News & World Report, thanks to strong safety & equity & access measures.
