- ➤ Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers began its Vote for a Cause contest on April 1 where Hampton Roads residents can nominate local non-profit, sports team or faith-based organizations to earn cash prizes — the top winner receiving $10,000. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The jury deliberated three hours yesterday and did not reach a verdict in the murder case against Calvin Jackson, who is charged with killing Kecoughtan High School teacher Joi Brown in June 2023—he faces both second-degree murder and manslaughter charges—and will resume deliberations today. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Today, Dominion Energy proposed raising base prices to cover higher costs for supplies and equipment as inflation increases. The company filed a proposal with the Virginia State Corporation Commission that could lead to a $21 monthly rise by July 1 + further hikes in 2026 and 2027 pending approval. WTKR
