ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A man in a wheelchair died after being struck by a pickup truck at Dresden Drive and Jefferson Avenue around 6:30 a.m. on Monday—police said the driver turning left from a parking lot remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.  13News Now

CRIME NEWS

  • Newport News law enforcement and community partners released a report today recommending increased education, more victim services, and additional housing resources to curb domestic violence— the report finds that from 2017 to 2025, domestic violence was linked to 21% of local homicides and 29% of simple assaults.  13News Now

  • Food Network’s Great Food Truck Race has brought talented food truck chefs to Newport News to compete, serve creative dishes, and offer free entry even though menu options vary in price—local residents already enjoyed a Monday showcase at Port Warwick.
