CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Malik Lloyd Jerome-Marryshow, a convicted felon stopped on Nov. 20, 2023 for a traffic violation and found with outstanding warrants and a loaded handgun, was sentenced on Tuesday, April 8th to one year and eight months in prison—he is barred from legally possessing a firearm. WAVY
- ➤ Newport News police said a man was taken to the hospital after a shooting on Riverlands Drive on Wednesday afternoon; he received treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and police are still searching for suspects. 13News Now
- ➤ A road rage incident occurred in Yorktown on Wednesday afternoon when a man was shot at approximately 2:10 p.m. near Piccadilly Loop—deputies detained the suspected shooter and took the injured man to a local hospital while heavy police presence secured the area with no ongoing threat. WAVY

- ➤ Gas prices in Norfolk rose by 16 cents per gallon since the beginning of last month—remaining nearly 30 cents lower than they were a year ago. Analysts say prices will likely climb in mid-to-late April as stations switch to summer-blend fuel. WAVY
