- ➤ Costco is moving from its location in Jefferson Plaza to a larger facility less than two miles away at the Ferguson Enterprises office space on Jefferson Avenue and Bland Boulevard. The new store will offer more parking and gas pumps and is expected to open in late 2026 or early 2027 while the current location remains open. WTKR

- ➤ Newport News Police are searching for 26-year-old Shalana Faison, who was last seen April 12 at 2 a.m. near Port Warwick — described as 5-foot-7 and weighing 130 pounds with black hair in loose curls and wearing black leggings, a black hoodie, a blue jacket and smiley face slippers — as she is considered endangered due to a medical condition; callers with information are urged to call 911 or 757-247-2500. 13News Now
- ➤ Newport News police arrested Dimair Jones (26) on Wednesday in connection with a triple homicide at a home on Stallings Court where Alvin Eugene Holiday, Monroe McGilvary Jr. and Derek Rico Jones Sr. were shot to death during an investigation that began on August 3rd, 2023. WTKR

- ➤ Secretary of the Navy John C. Phelan visited Hampton Roads shipyards on his 22nd day in office and said that shipbuilding contracts are under review because labor shortages delay warship construction. He said he will work to fix the workforce shortage within his first 100 days so the Navy can meet its planned fleet size—current plans show 287 ships instead of the expected 313. 13News Now
- ➤ The newly sworn-in Secretary of the Navy, John Phelan, visited Hampton Roads yesterday as he toured Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Newport News Shipbuilding, and the Pre-Commissioning Unit John F Kennedy to assess shipbuilding and maintenance progress. He said boosting worker training and adding shipyards — while studying foreign practices — will help improve readiness, and he aims to introduce a plan within his first 100 days. WAVY
- ➤ Virginia lawmakers asked the Department of Homeland Security to reverse the cancelation of FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure Communities program because its cancelation puts key projects at risk, including a Portsmouth dam upgrade and improvements at a Richmond water plant. Local officials said many communities now face uncertainty after $133 million in funds were canceled while Virginia Beach said its funds have been moved to state emergency management. WAVY
