- ➤ Organizer Josiah Palmer, who held an unpermitted gathering at Buckroe Beach on April 4, is working with Buckroe Coffee Co. co-owner David Spring to host trash cleanup events today and on April 25 so future events meet the rules. WTKR
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Woodside High School teacher Janet Costello won the James Madison Graduate Fellowship to boost her teaching of the American Constitution. She will begin a fully funded master’s degree program and complete a four week fellowship at Georgetown University in summer 2027. Newport News Public Schools

The Mariners’ MilKids Fest
12-4 p.m. — The Mariners' Museum and Park — Free for military families and museum members — Celebrate the Month of the Military Child with fun activities and resources honoring military kids.
