Two crashes on I-664 in Newport News on Tuesday morning caused delays with a two-mile backup after lanes reopened—one occurred northbound in the Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge Tunnel before 6:30 a.m. and the other happened southbound around 6:45 a.m.—with no injuries reported.

At an awards ceremony on April 21 at Woodside High School, Newport News Council PTA honored 30 students for their creative entries in the National PTA Reflections competition themed Accepting Imperfection.

Fourteen local entries advanced to the state contest and two received the Virginia PTA Award of Excellence in visual arts and film production — recognizing student talent.
