- ➤ Virginia Run for the Fallen will begin on May 1 in Hampton Roads and will cover 236 miles over four days to honor service members who lost their lives in the War on Terror. Four teams of four runners will carry full-size flags and pause every mile for a short ceremony at a Hero Marker. 13News Now

- ➤ Chartway Credit Union won the 2025 Top Workplaces Culture Excellence Award for Innovation on April 23 in Virginia Beach—its fourth consecutive win based on employee feedback that praised its people-first work culture. - ➤ Newport News Commonwealth’s Attorney Howard Gwynn said a special grand jury indicted former Richneck Elementary School assistant principal Ebony Parker on eight counts of child neglect from a Jan. 6 incident in which first-grade teacher Abby Zwerner was shot and injured by her 6-year-old student—her pre-trial hearing was delayed because Zwerner had surgery. 13News Now
- ➤ The trial for the shooting death of Quandrell Williams ended Tuesday when Lakavious Charity was convicted of voluntary manslaughter—Newport News also reached a confidential settlement with Williams’ family after the Oct.15 incident on Garden Drive. WAVY
- ➤ Hampton police arrested Ajani Wiggins, 32, for involuntary manslaughter—he also faces charges for driving with a suspended license and other traffic offenses—after a three-vehicle crash on April 8 that killed 73-year-old Lucille McPherson at the intersection of West Mercury Boulevard and Martha Lee Drive. 13News Now
