  • Langley Air Force Base said the Air Power Over Hampton Roads show will proceed despite a fatal plane crash on Thursday that killed a pilot while trying to land—NTSB investigators will review the controls, engine, and maintenance logs and expect a full report in 12 to 18 months.  13News Now

CRIME NEWS

  • Police in Newport News are searching for a person of interest after the death of 79 year old Hendrika Elizabeth Richards was ruled a homicide when officers found her body during a welfare check at a home in the 300 block of Heacox Lane on Monday morning — authorities say there is no danger to the community.  13News Now

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Ella Fitzgerald Middle School celebrated its 50th school year on its namesake's birthday on April 25th with music, speeches, and a commemorative proclamation by Newport News Public Schools. The school opened a new outdoor seating area — built by teachers and students — that will serve as an outdoor classroom and gathering space.  Newport News Public Schools

  • WTKR and Sportsplug 757 launched the No Limit Sports podcast Friday night to cover Hampton Roads sports topics. The first episode examined the Commanders’ pick, offensive lineman Josh Conerly Jr. from Oregon expected to protect quarterback Jayden Daniels, + it also discussed Michael Vick’s start as head coach at Norfolk State in his first spring game.  WTKR
