State Delegate Shelly Simonds presented a resolution on June 5 to honor Woodside High School’s theatre magnet program for earning second place at the VHSL Theatre State Championships Class 5 Ensemble competition + teacher Alison Hall, Administrator Amy Insley and Supervisor Katie SheehanSmith accepted the award while Superintendent Dr. Michele Mitchell sent her congratulations. The honor marks the program’s first win after three years and commends the team’s performance of 'The Struggles.'

Peninsula Regional 911 now uses a new system that lets callers send video and photos to help improve emergency responses.

The technology has been tested for three months (in about 30-40 incidents) and may soon add transcription and translation tools to assist dispatchers.
