The Patriotic Parade of Boats & Fish Fry Fundraiser will feature two events to benefit local non-profits—one hosting a boat parade and the other offering a fish fry—designed to engage community members.

A man was sentenced to over 19 years in jail for attempting to meet a minor for sex when he, under a false online identity, sent explicit images and asked to meet someone posing as a 13-year-old girl — court documents show he previously was convicted of sexual offenses — he was taken into custody when he arrived at the meeting location.
