Newport News police arrested 29-year-old Benjamin Forrest Carter after a ShotSpotter alert led them to 27th Street and Wickham Avenue just before 11:30 p.m. on May 25—where officers found 37-year-old Karen Yvonne Watkins suffering from a gunshot wound that later proved fatal.

The Jonas Brothers will perform in Virginia Beach on August 15 at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater as part of their expanded tour — they will also be joined by the All-American Rejects and will release a new single with tickets going on sale June 20.
