Tuesday afternoon, a vehicle fire on westbound I-64 near Harpersville Road caused a nearly 4-mile backup after a tractor-trailer from Virginia Beach caught fire—Hampton Fire Division quickly extinguished the blaze and no one was injured.

Yumahn Quayshawan Brown — wanted by Newport News authorities — was arrested in Elizabeth City on Monday on charges of conspiracy to commit malicious wounding, was held without bond at the Albemarle District Jail and was scheduled to appear in court on July 15.
