The YWCA of South Hampton Roads is asking local residents to donate cleaning & kitchen supplies after federal funding is on hold.

Without these donations, the shelter that houses women and children may only last about three months.

Colonna’s Shipyard entered into a multi-year agreement with Newport News Shipbuilding for fabricating structural components for U.S. Navy nuclear programs, a deal that supports growing defense needs.

The partnership will allow CSI to expand its facility & train its workforce at Norfolk and Owensboro.

Newport News Public Schools held a summer graduation ceremony on August 4 at Heritage High School where 51 students from five schools received their diplomas; school leaders and families celebrated their hard work.
