Four people were seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash Saturday morning at the Humelsine Parkway East and Quarter Path Road intersection in Newport News— a 2001 Honda Accord ran a red light, hit a 2025 Kia K5 and a 2018 Honda Civic, which caused the Kia to catch fire— as crews closed lanes for about three hours while police charged the Accord driver.

Health officials in Newport News are asking the public to help locate a large gray pit bull that bit a person in the Carlson Fall Housing Project area of Lee Hall on Thursday so that the victim will avoid needing rabies treatment—if found, the dog will be placed on a 10-day in‐home observation period rather than removed from its owner.
