Buckroe Beach residents in Hampton met on September 15 to talk about homelessness and safety issues near the beach—neighbors reported finding needles and drug items.
Local leaders from HELP, Inc. and city officials said they will explore options for a larger day center and new shelter while facing funding and location challenges.
Groundworks will host a family-friendly SuperHero event benefiting St Jude Children’s Research Hospital on October 11 at Virginia Beach Sportsplex.
The event includes check-in at 6:30 am, a walk at 7:30 am, a kids-foam-run at 9 am, and food trucks for walkers and runners of all levels.
