- ➤ Thrive Peninsula, a nonprofit serving local families, is expanding its help to federal workers and their families affected by the government shutdown that began Monday—offering walk-in hours and financial aid to prevent evictions and provide basic groceries. The organization on Nettles Drive is preparing for more requests from furloughed workers including those from NASA and the military. WTKR
