🏥 Health
A nurse at Riverside Cancer Care Center in Newport News fought stage 2 breast cancer while pregnant in December 2020 — she credits early check-ups with helping her deliver a healthy baby and now shares her story to stress the need for early detection.
She will join the Making Strides of Peninsula Walk 2025 on Oct. 19 at Newport News Park to honor her journey and support others.

The Norfolk State Spartans used a bye week after a 31 to 14 loss to Wofford to regroup for MEAC play.
Coaches say extra practice will help— the team plans to return on October 25 to face South Carolina State at 2 p.m.
