- ➤ Newport News Parks and Recreation will make community centers cashless starting Thursday, Jan. 1, so patrons can use debit or credit cards, mobile wallets, online payments, or checks/money orders. Officials say the change will improve efficiency and safety while enhancing record-keeping. 13News Now
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Virginia lawmakers passed a law that will ban baby food exceeding FDA limits for toxic metals starting Jan. 1 when manufacturers must test each batch and post results online (excluding infant formula). 13News Now

- ➤ With winter in effect in Newport News, colder temperatures are reducing tire pressure and may make your tires seem flat. It is recommended that drivers routinely check tire pressure to avoid safety risks (1-2 PSI drops for every 10° decline). 13News Now
