About this event
The Center of Excellence in Minority Health Disparities is proud to co-sponsor Together We Care , a free community event for anyone touched by dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The summit is designed to raise awareness, share resources, and support the caregivers who give so much to the people they love.
The program opens with a screening of the award-winning documentary Remember Me: Dementia in the African American Community . A panel of healthcare and community leaders will follow with a discussion of the film and what it means for families and caregivers here in Hampton Roads. Throughout the day, you’ll also have the chance to meet local organizations offering caregiver support services and resources.
Whether you are a family caregiver, a healthcare professional, a community advocate, or simply want to learn more, you are welcome. Come away with new knowledge, new connections, and a stronger sense of support.
Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m., and lunch is provided.
Registration is required .
