From Invention to Impact: Commercializing Graphene and Advanced Materials

About this event

Join the Hampton Roads Tech Meetup for a conversation with scientist, inventor, and entrepreneur Dr. Gordon Chiu about what it takes to move an emerging technology from scientific discovery toward real-world impact. Drawing on decades of experience with research, graphene, advanced materials, invention, and commercialization, Gordon will explore:

• What it takes to move technology beyond the lab

• The challenges of manufacturing, cost, standards, performance, and market fit

• Lessons learned from translating advanced-materials research into products and ventures

• How entrepreneurs, universities, industry, investors, and regional talent can help strengthen a deep-tech ecosystem

Gordon will join us virtually , with attendees gathering in person at the W&M Entrepreneurship Hub for the facilitated conversation, audience Q&A, and networking.
